Safeguarding
Safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults is a key part of the work that AR does - find out more here
Safeguarding is an integral part of AR’s safety operations and affects all operations on a daily basis.
This policy is one of a series in Adventure Residentials integrated safeguarding portfolio.
Our core safeguarding principles are:
-
It is Adventure Residentials responsibility to safeguard and promote the
welfare of children on their programmes, expeditions and courses;
-
Children who are and feel safe make more successful learners;
-
Representatives of the whole Adventure Residentials community of
participants, parents, school/group staff, AR administration staff and AR
instructors will be involved in policy development and review as required;
-
Policies will be reviewed annually, unless an incident or new legislation or
guidance suggests the need for an earlier date of review.
All staff and instructors uphold our commitment to safeguarding by undertaking enhanced checks with the Disclosure & Barring Service (‘DBS checks’ – formerly Criminal Records Bureau checks) as a cornerstone of our approach and these are repeated every three years.
If you have any comments, questions, issues or concerns regarding safeguarding please contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) .
